A flat-running groundcover that makes a dense mat only a few inches deep and covers ground quickly. It flowers magenta through the warm months and, unlike its Tibouchina relatives, takes South Florida alkaline limestone. It wants part shade through our hottest months and consistent water, so it is not a plant you install and walk away from in dry season. Good for pool surrounds, walkway edges, planters, and shaded runs where you want color at ankle height.
